In our humble opinion, we live in one of the most gorgeous regions in the country. The Carolinas are filled with lush forests, breathtaking mountains, winding rivers and a marvelous coastline, so it’s only fitting that our homes have the same level of wow factor! Luckily, there is an abundance of incredibly talented interior designers in our region who are more than equipped to help make your design goals a reality.
Whether you’re looking for a simple seasonal refresh, a kitchen remodel or a complete renovation, these talented local designers are here to help. We gathered up a healthy dose of home inspiration to help you get started, featuring five awe-inspiring interior design projects we love. Of course, your home is a reflection of you and your family, so make sure to make it your own!
MA Allen Interiors | High Style
Raleigh, North Carolina
MA Allen Interiors is a full-service design firm that strives to refresh and excite with a modern yet comfortable design aesthetic. Specializing in both residential and commercial design, the team enriches every space they touch with clean lines, modern sensibility, bold colors, patterns and textures. Clean lines and sophistication have become staples of the firm’s signature look!
The team also understands that a space should be personal, so they work with clients to make each project truly customized. Just look at this home, which features enviable elements like mirrored walls, bright colors, sophisticated materials and a swoon-worthy layout.
We are particularly enamored with the kitchen and dining area. Both spaces incorporate the warm bursts of color (oranges, pinks and bright greens) that can be found throughout the home without losing that contemporary feel. And those light fixtures definitely make a statement!
And when it comes time to relax, the bedrooms are the perfect reflection of the inhabitants. The master features elegant yet comfortable furniture and fun accents, and the kid’s bedroom is filled with color.

Ambiance Interiors | Friendly Ramble Home
Asheville, North Carolina
Ambiance Interiors has certainly earned its stellar reputation in the Asheville community! 2017 marked the firm’s 40th year of service, and though the team has adapted over the years to familiarize themselves with current trends and design techniques, they never lost sight of their original mission — to provide great work. They bring professional creativity to every project and are motivated by the reactions from their satisfied clients!
They hold the belief that homes are a self portrait — essentially that a home’s design should reflect the personalities of the people who live there. We believe they hit the mark with this friendly Ramble home!
The exterior of the home is already stunning, but the Ambiance team wove bright turquoise, green and muted blues throughout the home to create a cohesive theme and bring personality into each room.
The kitchen is bright and organized, featuring homey touches, enviable appliances on display, and a large farmhouse-style sink for dishes.
Even the bathrooms are fabulous! The master bathroom features bright floors and countertops with turquoise accents and the guest bathroom offers those with wanderlust a little treat with maps, news clippings and photos for wallpaper.

Allison Smith Interiors | Brown Farm Way Home
Greenville, South Carolina
Allison Smith has always had a heart for design and decided to open her own firm shortly after moving to Greenville. The firm provides full service residential design for both renovations and newly constructed homes, including space planning, window treatments, artwork selection, selection of finishing materials, paint color consultations, storage, installation and delivery for her clients.
You can see all of those services come to life in this stunning Brown Farm Way project, which emphasizes natural materials (stone and wood) and incorporates them in a modern way. Possibly our favorite aspect of the home is the floor-to-ceiling fireplaces that anchor the living room and the sun room.
The master bedroom is filled with natural light and incorporates a gorgeous color palette to make relaxing easy. The attached master bathroom is just as lovely, boasting stone tile floors and bright cabinetry.
But we also love the modern kitchen. Just look at those light fixtures!

Panageries | Traditional Mountain Roost
Greenville, South Carolina
Cynthia Masters, a visionary and a professional, runs the show at Panageries! She brings fresh insight, focus and exuberance to every project she tackles and custom tailors each design for her clients — nothing is copied. Panageries has been serving the region for more than 25 years and has earned plenty of stellar reviews, so you can ensure that Cynthia knows what she’s doing!
We love the dramatic yet homey feel of this mountain home. The beamed ceilings really add a refined feel to the space and the white furniture and neutral decor keep things clean. For a bit of brightness and fun, Cynthia incorporated turquoise accents. We are loving those lamps!
The living room opens up into the kitchen, which boasts a stark (and stunning) contrast between light and dark with elegant gold accents.
But perhaps our favorite feature is the master suite, showcasing a plush four-poster bed, floor-to-ceiling windows (and window treatments), and an attached master bathroom that feels like a spa.

Lauren Nicole Interior Design | Luxe Firethorne Home
Charlotte, North Carolina
Lauren Nicole Interior Design is rooted in the belief that your home is a reflection of your personality, so Lauren makes sure to meet with her clients and get a full picture of what they’re looking for before starting to plan. She strives towards making her clients as delighted as possible, whether it’s for a simple kitchen redesign or a full remodel.
If we were the owners of this home that she worked on, we would definitely be delighted! We love the contrast of light and dark that Lauren brought into every room, and the beamed ceilings in the living room are nothing short of stunning.
The master bedroom feels like an upscale retreat with a mirrored headboard, elegant chandelier and breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to sip your coffee while cozied up on one of those blue chairs?
And finally, the kitchen is in a league of its own. Featuring a white and slate color palette with gleaming hardwoods and marble countertops, it offers plenty of storage and upscale appliances for the home chef.
