Allen Tate Realtors® in the Charlotte region recently raised more than $52,000 to benefit public education, as part of the company’s Annual FUNday event.

For the past 25 years, Allen Tate agents, employees and guests have raised money for local public education organizations. In 2020 and 2021, the company shifted to a virtual fundraising campaign, Tate Cares Operation Education, because of COVID.

This year, the company returned to four in-person regional FUNday events across the Carolinas. To date, FUNday has raised more than $2.51 million for public education across the Carolinas (not including proceeds from 2022 events).

More than 400 people attended “Food Trucks and Field Day,” a casual outdoor event held September 12 at The Mint Museum Randolph in Charlotte.

Festivities included a live auction, DJ, reverse raffle, and corn hole tournament

“We had a huge turnout for our first live FUNday in three years! Local food trucks were a big hit, as well as friendly competition in Office Olympics, in spite of a pop-up rain shower. Nothing could dampen the spirits of our agents as we raised money together for public education. It was a fantastic time, and we can’t wait to do it again,” said Alison Smith, branch leader, Allen Tate Charlotte-Center City and FUNday co-chair.

Matt Hermansen, branch leader, Allen Tate Lake Wylie; Sandi Salisbury, branch leader, Allen Tate Matthews-Mint Hill; and Angela Standish, branch leader, Allen Tate Lake Norman, also served as co-chairs of the Charlotte event.

Local education organizations that will benefit from Allen Tate FUNday dollars include Best NC, Communities in Schools, Meck Ed Citizens for Public Education, Teach for America, Classroom Central, Walter Bickett Elementary School, Mooresville Foundation for Excellence in Education, Iredell-Statesville Schools, Kannapolis Education Foundation, Gaston County Education Foundation, Greater Cleveland County Schools, Foundation for Fort Mill Schools, Rock Hill Education Foundation, York Education Foundation, Indian Land High School, Clover Leaf Foundation, Lancaster County Schools
