Don’t let an empty belly spoil your summer shopping plans. Here are five great spots for a quick and easy meal as you shop Main Street in Waynesville.

If you’re an early riser: Orchard Coffee

For those who prefer to start shopping early, Orchard Coffee is a great place for handcrafted beverages and baked goods. This award-winning coffee bar and bakery plants the seeds for a successful day with specialty coffee drinks and a made-from-scratch breakfast menu. Feast on their gourmet take on avocado toast or snag one of their famous homemade donuts for the ultimate treat. We also recommend the Honey Cinnamon Latte and the sweet or savory Scone of the Day. Orchard is one of our favorite spots to walk to from the office.

If you work up an appetite: Church Street Depot

Sometimes when we’re shopping, we work up an appetite trekking around town. If you’re the same, stop over for a grass-fed burger or a “depot dog” from Church Street Depot. This culinary hotspot offers mouthwatering hand-pattied burgers, 100% Angus hot dogs, turkey burgers, sandwiches, housemade chili, coleslaw, and more. Don’t forget the hand-cut cheese fries on the side! For those ending their shopping day here instead, the Depot also offers “adult milkshakes” made with Mooresville ice cream. After a full day of hard work, you deserve it.

If you want your food on the go: food trucks

No one understands “food on the go” quite like food trucks. The food truck scene in Waynesville has grown considerably over the past few years and now includes several great options around town. Fuego is an American kitchen with a modern twist, offering a new menu weekly with options like mojo pork bowls and shrimp fried rice. Proceeds from the hand-pattied burgers and fresh-cut fries at Holy Cow Food Truck provide supplemental income for Haywood Pathways Center. Jose’s Taco Truck satisfies your south-of-the-border cravings with authentic tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and tortas. And the hot dog and burgers menu at Woof Street Bistro is so good it will have you howling! One of these amazing trucks is sure to be parked near where you’re shopping—check them out.

If you’re ready for a home-cooked meal: Kanini’s

Kanini’s was launched in 2008 specifically to offer convenient, quick, and nutritious meal options to the people of Waynesville. Their menu includes such various options as salads, tacos, burgers, wraps, and chicken and waffles. It’s easy to grab lunch or dinner in their dining room while you’re out. Or order their pre-prepared dinner options to-go for a healthy home-cooked meal that’s ready to eat as soon as you get home from a long day of shopping on the town. Bring the family back to the table for food they’re sure to love without any of the stress of cooking.
