Allen Tate Realtors® in the Triangle recently raised more than $26,000 to benefit public education, as part of the company’s 20th Annual FUNday event.

For the past two decades, Allen Tate agents, employees and guests have gathered each FUNday and “paid to play” to raise money for local public education organizations. This year, four separate regional FUNday events took place through the company’s footprint in North and South Carolina. To date, FUNday has raised more than $1.85 million for public education across the Carolinas (not including proceeds from 2017 events).

More than 150 people attended the Triangle event, Tate Tailgate 2, held October 5 at N.C. State Alumni Center in Raleigh. The festivities included a Southern “comfort food” buffet, dancing to live music by Redline and the finals of the life-size Jenga tournament between Allen Tate Triangle branch offices (Allen Tate Chapel Hill/Durham beat 2016 champion, Allen Tate Raleigh-Glenwood).

“This year, we invited some of our FUNday recipient organizations to participate. We asked local students to draw ‘what home means to me’ and we displayed their artwork at the event. Our attendees were also welcomed by a live performance from the Athens Drive High School Drum Line,” said Sandra Paul, FUNday Triangle event chairperson.

Local education organizations that will benefit from Allen Tate FUNday dollars include the Poe Center for Health Education, WakeEd Partnership, Communities in Schools – Wake County and Durham County and The Boys and Girls Club of Durham and Orange County.

FUNday is made possible through the support of national, regional and local sponsors.

Scholar-level sponsors included Arnette Law Offices, ASG Management, Brookhaven, Capital City Law, Costner Law, First Leads, Inc., HH Hunt Homes, Newland Communities, Sundance Signature Homes, Taylor Morrison, Terramor Homes and Westgate Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM.

Entry-level sponsors included 919 Aerial Photography, AgriWaste Technology, Brentwood Flooring America, Hilldrup Moving and Storage, Nando Media, Piedmont Service Group and South Law Firm,

Allen Tate is the Carolinas’ largest real estate company with seven offices in the Triangle region – Apex, Cary-Searstone, Cary-Stonebridge, Chapel Hill/Durham, Raleigh-Falls of Neuse, Raleigh-Glenwood, and Wake Forest/Rolesville – and a total of 44 offices in North and South Carolina.
