Howard Hanna Allen Tate Real Estate, the country’s #1 family-owned and operated, independent real estate firm and the #1 brokerage in the Carolinas, has named Scott Griffith as branch leader of the company’s Bluffton office in the SC Lowcountry region.
In this role, Griffith will oversee branch operations and lead and grow a team of more than 30 Howard Hanna Allen Tate real estate agents and staff.
A seasoned business leader, manager and sales professional, Griffith transitioned to real estate after a 33-year career in hotel management, where he began his career in the New York City metro area. He spent many years with properties including the Waldorf Astoria, the Plaza, Omni Berkshire and Marriott World Trade Center.
He relocated to the Lowcountry from Rumson, N.J. and joined Howard Hanna Allen Tate Real Estate (then Coastal Properties) in 2021.
Griffith holds a bachelor of arts degree in political science from Slippery Rock University, where he played varsity soccer for four years.

A native of Ohio, Griffith and his wife Lynn have lived in seven different states and now make their home in Okatie, S.C. They have two adult children, Robert and Caitlin.
Griffith has served as quarterly blood drive chairperson for the Howard Hanna Allen Tate Sun City/Okatie office since 2021. He is a docent at the Church of the Cross in Bluffton, and he enjoys golfing, hiking, photography and reading non-fiction.
