Hoby Hanna, Kris Burdick, Gary Scott honored
Three high-ranking Howard Hanna leaders have been named to the Swanepoel Power 200 for 2026, an annual list of the most powerful and influential executives and leaders in the residential real estate brokerage industry.
Howard “Hoby” Hanna IV, CEO of Hanna Holdings; Kris Burdick, president of brokerage operations, Howard Hanna Real Estate; and Gary Scott, president, Howard Hanna Southeast, were included on the list.
The SP 200 is compiled and published annually by T3 Sixty, the residential real estate brokerage industry’s leading management consulting and research firm.
The T3 Sixty leadership team ranks leaders by four criteria weighted equally: recent achievements and projected near-term impact on the industry; the scale and power of an executive’s organization and their role within it; influence and reputation among industry peers; and relative standing within their industry segment.
“This recognition further demonstrates the strength of the Howard Hanna leadership team and the power of one unified brand. It confirms what we know about the Howard Hanna family; our leadership is poised to take us well into the future,” Hanna said.
A third-generation company leader, Hanna maintains a respected industry voice as the head of a firm established during an era when family-owned brokerages had more prominence. In 2025, he led Howard Hanna, the nation’s seventh-largest brokerage and 13th-largest franchise brand, through a brand refresh as it consolidated more of its subsidiaries under a single identity. Under Hanna’s leadership, the company has continued to compete in the era of consolidation, making strategic acquisitions in Manhattan — a new market for the brokerage — and Ohio, deepening its leadership in its home state.
Burdick has served as president of brokerage operations at Howard Hanna Real Estate Services since 2023. In this role, she oversees the largest privately-owned brokerage in the US, which has more than 12,000 agents in 14 states, with $34 billion in annual sales. Burdick, who previously served as president of Northern Ohio and Michigan at the brokerage, now oversees business and operational efforts for the firm.
Scott oversees residential real estate operations, strategic market growth and expansion and agent recruiting for the company’s 99-office footprint in the Carolinas, Georgia and Virginia. In March 2025, he was named president of Howard Hanna Virginia in addition to his role as president of Howard Hanna Allen Tate. In August, he led the company’s rebrand in the Carolinas as Howard Hanna Allen Tate Real Estate and led the acquisition of Coastal Properties in the South Carolina Lowcountry and Georgia.
Howard Hanna Allen Tate Real Estate is the #1 real estate company in the Carolinas, with more than 80 offices and 1,800 agents serving communities across North and South Carolina and Georgia. As part of Howard Hanna Real Estate Services, the largest family-owned and operated real estate company in the United States, Howard Hanna Allen Tate offers a full suite of real estate services, including mortgage, insurance, title and relocation.
