Amy Congdon, vice president of strategic engagement for Howard Hanna Mortgage Services, will lead the Mortgage Bankers Association of the Carolinas (MBA Carolinas) as president.
In this elected position, she will serve as the chief executive officer of the organization and chairman of the executive committee and board of directors from November 2023 to October 2024. She will work closely with legislators in both North and South Carolina in support of sound, fair and just legislation that impacts the financial and housing sectors. Additionally, she will sponsor seminars and disseminate industry-related information to support consumer education throughout the states and keep members informed about legislation that impacts real estate finance and appraisal activities.
Congdon has worked in the mortgage industry since 1997, including roles as loan processor, branch operations manager, sales supervisor, processing and underwriting supervisor and post-closing supervisor. She joined Beverly-Hanks Mortgage Services in 2014, which became part of Howard Hanna Mortgage Services in January 2023. As vice president of strategic engagement for Howard Hanna Mortgage, Congdon trains new loan officers; works with regional managers, loan officers and department managers to resolve issues, and acts as agent ambassador to promote Family of Companies services.
She earned a bachelor of arts degree in art history and non-profit business management from Salem College.

It is my intention to rejuvenate our association and renew its purpose of re-engagement to form an active network of mortgage professionals. I strive to create value for my members through education, legislative representation and effective communication while providing the highest level of ethical standards,” Congdon said.
Congdon has been active with MBA Carolinas for 11 years, and a member of her local association, MBA of Western NC, for 17 years. She serves on the Convention Committee for MBA Carolinas and has been co-chair for four years.
In addition to her industry service, Congdon is a volunteer for Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity, Veterans’ Restoration Quarters and Mountain Housing Opportunities. She is a member of the Cathedral of All Souls, where she sings in the adult choir and serves on the Endowment Committee.
Congdon and her husband Bill Doyle have been married for 25 years and reside in Hendersonville.
