Allen Tate Realtors® in the Triad recently raised more than $35,000 to benefit public education, as part of the company’s 20th Annual FUNday event.
For the past two decades, Allen Tate agents, employees and guests have gathered each FUNday and “paid to play” to raise money for local public education organizations. This year, four separate regional FUNday events were held throughout the company’s footprint in North and South Carolina. To date, FUNday has raised more than $1.65 million for public education across the Carolinas (not including proceeds from 2017 events).
More than 200 people attended the Triad event, a Hawaiian luau held September 26 at Paul J. Ciener Botanical Garden in Kernersville. The evening’s festivities included silent and live auctions, a reverse raffle, wine and liquor pull, reception and dancing.
“The level of enthusiasm and commitment from our entire Triad team and Family of Company members amazes me. The willingness to participate and invest in FUNday was overwhelming and heartwarming,” said Lolita Malave, FUNday Triad event chairperson. “Our Allen Tate family surpassed our expectations.”
Local education organizations that will benefit from Allen Tate FUNday dollars include Alamance-Burlington Classroom Closet, Asheboro City Schools, Davidson County Education Foundation, Greensboro Children’s Museum, The Enrichment Fund for Guilford County Schools, Guilford Education Alliance, Randolph County School System, Rockingham County Schools, Stokes County Schools, Teach for America, Winston-Salem Children’s Museum and Winston-Salem Educator Warehouse.
