Allen Tate Realtors® in the Triangle recently raised more than $22,000 to benefit public education, as part of the company’s 19th Annual FUNday event.
For the past 19 years, Allen Tate agents, employees and guests have gathered each FUNday and “paid to play” to raise money for local public education organizations. This year, four separate regional FUNday events took place through the company’s footprint in North and South Carolina. To date, FUNday has raised more than $1.65 million for public education across the Carolinas.
More than 200 people attended the Triangle event, a “Tate Tailgate” held October 6 at N.C. State Alumni Center in Raleigh. The festivities included a Southern comfort buffet, live music by Redline, tailgating games, a reverse raffle, wine pull and sponsor fair.
A unique addition to FUNday was a life-size Jenga tournament between the Allen Tate branch offices. Despite intense competition, the Allen Tate Raleigh-Glenwood office prevailed as the winner.
“We began an awareness campaign with the Allen Tate Triangle team about 90 days before the event by sharing facts and stories to emphasize what an impact non-profits make in support of public education,” said Sandra Paul, FUNday Triangle event chairperson. “Our sponsors and the Allen Tate family were enormously generous and supportive. We had the largest attendance ever and exceeded our fundraising goal.”
Local education organizations that will benefit from Allen Tate FUNday dollars include the Poe Center for Health Education, WakeEd Partnership, Communities in Schools – Wake County and Communities in Schools – Durham County.
FUNday is made possible through the support of national, regional and local sponsors.
Scholar-level sponsors included Ashton Woods, Brookhaven, Capital City Law, Flash Photo Booth, Newland Communities, Sundance Signature Homes, Taylor Morrison, Terramor Homes and Westgate Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram.
Entry-level sponsors included AgriWaste Technology, Brentwood Flooring America, Carolina Capitol Solutions, Hilldrup Moving and Storage, Perkins Lund Collar and Associates, Piedmont Service Group, and John South Law.
Allen Tate is the Carolinas’ largest real estate company with six offices in the Triangle region – Cary-Searstone, Cary-Stonebridge, Chapel Hill/Durham, Raleigh-Falls of Neuse, Raleigh-Glenwood, and Wake Forest/Rolesville – and a total of 43 offices in North and South Carolina.
