Carolinas’ real estate leader partners with Southland Homes + Realty
Allen Tate Companies, the Carolinas’ leading real estate company, is proud to partner with Southland Homes + Realty on the opening of its Monroe and Matthews-Idlewild (NC) offices.
Southland Homes + Realty was founded in 2020 by Joshua Caruso and Alicia Hill Love, who will continue to serve as brokers in charge. The company has grown to eight agents in two offices and closed 122 transactions totalling $44 million in 2023.
The Allen Tate Monroe / Southland Homes + Realty office opened in 2020 and is located at 2304 A Roland Drive, near US Hwy 74 in Monroe. Caruso is broker-in-charge for the Monroe location. The Allen Tate Matthews-Idlewild / Southland Homes + Realty office opened in 2022 and is located at 13124 Idlewild Road in Matthews. Love is broker-in-charge for the Matthews-Idlewild location.
Both offices primarily serve clients in Union and Mecklenburg counties, as well as the greater Charlotte area and the Grand Strand/Myrtle Beach (SC) area.
Caruso has worked as a licensed Realtor for 10 years. Prior to his real estate career, he worked in customer service for a car dealership and has also managed several entrepreneurial ventures. A resident of Unionville, NC, he is active in the Union County Chamber of Commerce and participates in a variety of community events in Union County. Caruso has two daughters, Hannah and Sarah, and enjoys American muscle cars, football, outdoor activities and golf.
Love has also worked as a licensed Realtor for 10 years. Prior to her real estate career, she was a stay-at-home mother. A resident of Marshville, NC, Love and her husband Justin have four children and one grandson. She enjoys family activities, going to the gym, shopping, traveling and spending time outdoors.
“We founded Southland Homes + Realty to ‘create our own box’ for taking care of our clients and agents in a way that lets each person know how important they are,” Caruso said.

“I chose real estate as a career because I love helping people and watching dreams become reality. I get to sit at the same desk where my dad sat, in the office complex that he designed,” Love said. “I’m super excited about the doors we will be able to open through our partnership with Allen Tate.”
