Allen Tate Companies President Gary Scott has been named to the 2025 Real Estate Newsmakers by RISMedia, the leading information and news provider for the residential real estate industry.

The eighth annual showcase spotlights more than 300 of the industry’s most dynamic and inspiring leaders for contributions to the industry, their companies and their communities. Scott was recognized in the Luminaries category.

Scott, a 39-year industry veteran, returned to Allen Tate Companies as president in 2021. He previously served as general sales manager and senior vice president at Allen Tate from 1998 to 2010.

In 2024, Scott effectively led his residential team in preparing for the changes the NAR Settlement would bring regarding buyer agency representation and compensation. The company held 11 “New Approach to Real Estate” events across the footprint to ensure every Allen Tate agent was fully knowledgeable, prepared and confident. A total of 1,644 agents and residential support professionals attended the sessions, representing 92 percent of the company’s agent population.

Scott continued to build on his Partner Office model as a recruiting and retention strategy, adding 8 new partner offices in late 2023 and 2024. This strategy offers Allen Tate co-branding, technology and resources to smaller companies and agent teams, while allowing them to retain ownership and independence. The company now has 21 partner offices and continues to grow.

In October, Scott led the company’s acquisition of The Alliance Group Realty, in partnership with Howard Hanna Real Estate. This move expanded the Allen Tate footprint into the South Carolina Low Country, with 70+ agents and offices in Hilton Head and Bluffton, SC.

Scott hosts the popular REality podcast that features top-performing Allen Tate agents, icons in the real estate industry and leaders in other fields. He is a multi-year recipient of the RISNewsmakers and Swanepoel Top 200 Power Brokers lists.

In addition to Scott, eight leaders with the Howard Hanna Family of Companies were honored as 2025 RISMedia Newsmakers. Honorees and categories include:
