Realtor.com list ranks growing Allen Tate community

Apex, North Carolina is one of the country’s Top 10 growth suburbs for spring, according to a recent survey by realtor.com.

But that’s no surprise to Allen Tate Realtors®, who opened an Apex office in January.

“Apex is growing at the rate of five people per day,” said Phyllis Brookshire, president, Allen Tate Realtors. “It’s a hidden gem that won’t be hidden for long.”

Homes in the Apex suburb sold in an average of 41 days in 2016, according to the survey. Home prices in the area have grown 11.6 percent annually over the past three years.

“Despite this significant growth in home prices, many Apex homes are still affordably priced,” said Brookshire.

“Suburbs are traditionally viewed as meccas for young families, willing to trade in shorter commute times and urban nightlife for better schools and larger homes, but the relationship between the suburbs and urban areas is far more intertwined,” said Jonathan Smoke, chief economist for realtor.com.

“Rising home prices and inventory shortages in urban centers have made affordable suburban home prices more appealing for buyers. Our analysis indicates that 50 percent of buyers planning to purchase a home this spring prefer a home in the suburbs,” said Smoke.

More than 25 Allen Tate Realtors are currently serving Apex-area clients from a temporary location at Towerview Office Suites, 1750 NW Maynard Road in Cary.

Allen Tate will move to a new, permanent office in the Publix Pointe retail center at 1421 Kelly Road in Apex in late summer.
