06_fundayIt’s no secret that the Allen Tate Companies do things a little differently. As the #1 real estate company in the Carolinas and one of the Top 10 independent real estate companies in the nation, Allen Tate is an innovator and leader when it comes to technology, tools and customer service.

One of the things that has always distinguished the Allen Tate Companies is our commitment to give back to the 41 communities where we live, work and play. Public education is one of our giving priorities.

Each fall, for the past 18 years, we have raised money for public education through the Allen Tate FUNday. The original one-location FUNday has evolved into a multi-market event, with four regional FUNdays as unique as the agents and employees plan and participate in them.

This year, we raised more than $128,000. More than 1,100 agents, employees, guests and sponsors came together to make it happen.

Since FUNday began, we have raised more than $1.65 million for public education in North and South Carolina. That money has directly impacted students and teachers, through resources, programs, instructional training and other education necessities.

Some highlights of our 2015 events:

  • In the Triad, we held a Western hoedown September 24 at The Barn at Summerfield Farms in Summerfield. The festivities included silent and live auctions, a 50/50 raffle, wine pull, reception and dancing – and lots of hats, boots and large belt buckles.
  • In Charlotte, we celebrated FUNday with our partner, the Carolina Panthers, with an upscale tailgate in the Panthers’ Den at Bank of America Stadium on October 6. Guests enjoyed behind-the-scene tours of the stadium, as well as silent and live auctions, a wine pull, diamond drop and 50/50 raffle.
  • In the Triangle, we went back in time to the glamour of Old Hollywood. Guests in sophisticated attire participated in a ballroom dancing, a Black Jack tournament, silent auction, wine pull and reverse raffle. The event was held October 8 at the Carolina Country Club in Raleigh.
  • In the Upstate, FUNday was “An Enchanted Evening” on November 3 at the Hyatt in Greenville. Highlights included the Great Restaurant Giveaway ($1,500 in gift cards) and a drawing for an aquamarine and diamond ring, as well as silent and live auctions, wine pull and dancing.

My chosen career in real estate has always been enjoyable and challenging. But I can honestly say that FUNday is truly one of my favorite parts. I am blessed to work in a profession, with such great people and community partners, to be able to make such a difference as we have through FUNday.
